What we do?
SYMBIOMA is a three-year project (2019-2022) financed by the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme. The project get together a range of partners – research centres, local government and SMEs – in Finland, Ireland, Norway and Sweden.
The project provides micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises in rural and sparsely populated areas with resource-efficient, innovative products and services for developing the circular economy.
The objectives of the SYMBIOMA project mainly focus on three main objectives:
- Project create and maintain the SYMBIOMA-TIP (Technology Innovation Platform) for the multidisciplinary circular economy.
- The project develop a TIP service portfolio for micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprisess to exsplore the potential of the circular economy.*
- The one of aims is educate stakeholders on how to promote the opportunities of the circular economy and SYMBIOMA TIP services.
Food and beverage SMEs are vital in the NPA region and are therefore chosen as a pilot basis for project activities.
The Finnish Centria University of Applied Science is the lead partner. Other participants in the project are partners from Norway, Sweden and Ireland.
